Precor EFX 556HR Elliptical CrossTrainer

Precor CrossTrainer

Price Range: $1,660 - $3,018

Your Price is based on how much you buy,

how long of warranty you need, and weather you buy it remanufactured, refurbished, or used.

It's the most popular new form of cardiovascular exercise in fitness facilities today. Introduced by Precor, it features a no-impact, forward or reverse elliptical stride that lets your members adjust ramp and resistance for cross training benefits. On the EFX™, you stride smoothly while holding the handrails or moving your arms in natural sync, with or without hand weights. The exclusive, electronically adjustable Cross Ramp™ lets you change the slope of the stride with the touch of a key to vary muscle emphasis. Studies confirm that the EFX provides excellent aerobic conditioning, muscle involvement, and range of motion. Best of all, exercisers report lower rates of perceived exertion* on the EFX than on traditional machines. This means that the EFX encourages exercisers to work out harder and more productively.

Designed for heavy commercial use, the Precore EFX 556 HHR features sturdy construction, ergonomic handlebars, 6 programs and 20 resistance levels.

  • The one and only elliptical ramp incline on the market has new cross training capabilities - Cross Ramp. With settings from 10º - 40º, your members can now get even more intense gluttial involvement, or they can continue using the range of ramp settings they already enjoy in forward or reverse motion.
  • The Cross Ramp Indicator lets members see how the EFX targets different muscles. As the Cross Ramp changes during a programmed course or is manually adjusted, the color indicator displays which muscles are being emphasized, letting members see what they're feeling.
  • Cross Ramp™ makes the EFX the most versatile cardiovascular machine in years - ideal for members of all ages and fitness levels. Newcomers to your facility can use low Cross Ramp and resistance to simulate no-impact walking and to easily adapt to the "feel" of the motion. Athletes and other highly conditioned members can benefit from the full range of 20 Cross Ramp settings at any of 20 levels of resistance. And those who are rehabilitating can experiment with Cross Ramp and create a motion that's uniquely comfortable for them.
  • Biomechanical Benefits: 40% more gluttial involvement than traditional machines Exceptional hip flexion and extension, knee range of motion Body position minimizes potential for aggravation of knee injuries Reverse motion emphasizes hamstrings; forward, glutesl EFX users had lower rates of perceived exertion (RPE) than with other exercise modalities EFX provides a sufficient metabolic challenge for development and maintenance of cardiovascular fitness More calories are burned with reverse motion at a given speed and resistance Precor electronic displays are well-recognized as the most straightforward and user-friendly in the industry. The EFX556 console communicates the machine's effectiveness and range of capabilities as easily to your new members as to your EFX "veterans." And with the new Cross Ramp Indicator, members understand at a glance that the EFX556 offers highly effective, easily customized options.
  • Cross Ramp™ Indicator is a unique, lighted display feature on the console which shows users the muscles being targeted during Elliptical Fitness Cross training. Smart Touch Key Pad Technology adds ease to controlling and monitoring your workout by incorporating soft-touch technology, 10 numeric keys, intuitive keystroke sequencing, and multiple feedback options. Large LED's and accompanying graphics are combined for exceptional clarity and user-friendliness. Smart Rate™ is a color indicator which shows when the user's heart rate is above, below, or within the user's ideal weight loss or cardiovascular training zones. To activate the Smart Rate, the Precor heart rate chest strap must be used (installation of heart rate option kit required). Quick Start™ places the user in the Manual course with the push of a single key. 8 Programmed Courses make full use of the unique Cross Ramp options, helping members achieve specific conditioning goals. Courses include: Manual, Cross training 1, Cross training 2, Cross training 3, Cross Country Course, Hill Climb, Interval, and Weight Loss Course. Features available upon purchase can help you adapt the EFX556 to the needs of your facility. The CSAFE Kit (for compatibility with other electronic fitness systems) and heart rate readout are easy to install into the console. To activate the heart rate system, the exerciser must wear a Polar™ or compatible heart rate chest strap transmitter (sold separately).
