appreciates the honor of being a YMCA supplier. So we spent 6 months designing a Corporate Donation
program to “give back” to the YMCA organization.
Our objective was to design a program that allowed the small
business owner to donate FREE used fitness equipment to their YMCA of
choice.
We
understand the positive impact that large corporate donations have on
the YMCA system. We
wanted to create a program that allows the small business owner the
opportunity to give back to his/her community within their budget.
“A
Great New Program for the YMCA Was Born!”
It works like this:
Used Gym Equipment.com will supply every YMCA with a letter that
can be reprinted on YMCA letterhead.
This letter will be mailed out to all potential Corporations by
each individual YMCA. The
letter introduces the small companies to a great program that allows
them to buy Refurbished fitness equipment from Used Gym
Equipment.com and donate it
to the YMCA of their choice.
The letter goes on to explain this great opportunity to give back
to the community. While
getting FREE advertising and goodwill for 2 years.
The great benefit to the business is a charitable donation that is
tax deductible. And
the fitness equipment donated
will have a golden plated plaque (approx. 3”x3”) mounted just above
the console. The
plaque will bring attention the donators business with a statement
similar to this:

Chevrolet.
The
plaques will be produced and paid for by Used Gym Equipment.com and stay
on the exercise machine for at least 2 years.
So the business gets advertising exposure for 2 years.
And the YMCA’s are protected because the business will buy a 2
year extended warranty to cover any maintenance costs on the equipment
during the 2 year term. It’s
a win win program for everybody .

asked Mike Boccieri, CEO of 6 YMCA’s.
If he opened his next facility and every Fitness machine was
donated. But had a small
golden plaque above the console acknowledging the donator, just like the
hospitals do. Would
that be a problem for him?
He laughed and said; he could handle any complaints considering
the benefit to the Community.”
The
Business person is excited because every machine he/she donates will
be used 5,376 hours by 10,752 people over the 2 year period. (Based on 8
hours a day use)
The corporate donator also gets the tax write off to boot!
So they get a charitable donation and FREE advertising for 2
years. This is an
easy program to sell to the smaller businesses in the local areas of
each YMCA. Especially
when you show the local business operators how much they get for their
money when they donate REFURBISHED fitness equipment over NEW fitness
equipment. They
realize you’re looking out for their best interest too.
This donation program can also generate cash for the YMCA’s
that can be used in other areas.
If you already have a gym full of equipment. Used Gym
Equipment.com will pay you money for your equipment that’s being
replaced by the donation. This
money can then be used to finance needed products or programs for the
community. Like sponsoring
day care programs.
