The Precor AMT 885 Adaptive Motion Trainer is a cross between a stairstepper and a crosstrainer, with the best features of both. The AMT 885 gives users unparalleled workout flexibility with its Open Stride system, which allows for a wide range of motion in two dimensions, with stride heights ranging from 6.8 to 10 inches, and a stride length of 0 to 36 inches. Not only does this give users the ability to target specific muscle groups at will, it also means that the AMT 885 can accommodate users of many different sizes: the Western Washington University Biomechanics Lab validated the AMT 885 for users ranging in size from the 5th percentile of women, to the 95th percentile of men.
The system’s touch screen gives exercisers easy access to a wide array of workout data, including distance, calories consumed, workout time, heart rate, and more. Users can select from 12 preset programs, including lose weight, aerobic, be fit, fat burner, and mountain peaks. The AMT 885 offers 20 levels of resistance, ranging from 20 watts at 60 strides per minute and zero stride length, to 375 watts at 120 strides per minute and maximum stride length.
